GS METRIS Pp*
Thomas Bacher
With GS METRIS Pp*, Genostar has succeeded in placing the number one of all available genetically polled bulls in the international top list. GS METRIS Pp* embodies the modern Fleckvieh breed and is the result of a family passionate about Fleckvieh breeding.
With an outstanding total breeding value of 148 points, a very high milk value of 133 points, and +1,061 kg of milk with positive components (+0.09% fat, +0.05% protein), GS METRIS Pp* achieves almost +100 kg of fat and protein. Together with unparalleled fitness inheritance, he is currently one of the most sought-after bulls in breeding programs and targeted matings. He was bred by the ambitious and consistent breeding operation of the Höller Christoph family in Kleinschlag (Rohrbach an der Lafnitz). There, the focus is on highly productive cows with strong fitness and conformation without compromise – a philosophy that GS METRIS Pp* perfectly reflects in his genomic values.
Dam: LIBERA (S: GS Deluxe), 1st lactation: 10,820 kg - 3.72% fat - 3.68% protein
Dam: The GS DELUXE daughter LIBERA produced 10,820 kg of milk with 3.72% fat and 3.68% protein in her first lactation – with excellent cell count values.
Grandmother: The GS HERZTAKT daughter LORE (also dam of GS DOTTORE and GS MAIZAUBER) is currently in her 4th lactation with a lifetime production of over 50,000 kg of milk (Ø 12,130 kg, 4.39% fat, 3.55% protein).
Great-grandmother: The ZEPTER daughter LIVERPOOL impressed over 5 lactations with a steady increase in performance.
Lifespan and udder health
In terms of fitness, GS METRIS Pp* shows an extremely balanced profile. His offspring will be characterized by a long productive life (124) and at the same time impress with very good udder health (119). Fertility (121) is also well above average. This trait is complemented by rapid milkability (115) and very calm milking behavior (111).
Excellent udders
GS METRIS Pp* produces offspring with medium capacity and sufficient body depth. The feet and legs show a tendency toward steeper hocks, which are dry and well-defined. His particular strength lies in the udder: harmonious individual values, tight fore udder attachment, high udder floor, correct length distribution, and longer and thicker teats with correct teat placement. GS METRIS Pp* is currently available in limited conventional form and will also be offered in female sexed semen in the near future.
